Val Moogz School of Joy
The Val Moogz School of Joy exists to facilitate workshops, provide creative learning opportunities and collaborate with others to share in activities and events that will contribute to a wider sense of joy, connection and creative expression in our community.
The Val Moogz School of Joy originated in the Eurobodalla Shire in September 2023, with the launch of fifteen beginner music worshops for adults, teenagers and children. With over 130 sign-ups, and multiple workshops selling out quickly after releasing them to the public, the workshops were well received by participants with calls for continued group learning opportunities. Although the workshops ran in September 2023, the idea for a school of joy, focussed on creating opportunities (particularly for adults) to connect in with community and find more opportunties for play and have fun together was dreamed up much earlier. Through particpating in Project Alchemy (a Rebus Theatre initiative), the Val Moogz School of Joy was able to purchase the music equipment and fund the running of the preliminary workshops. With many more events and courses on the horizon, the Val Moogz School of Joy is only just getting started and is committed to finding more ways to bring the community together in ways that deepen connection, creativity and spark joy.
